ModoSpira was founded by board-certified pulmonologists and allied healthcare workers that have run PR programs at some of the country’s leading healthcare institutions. We challenged ourselves with two game-changing goals that would turn traditional PR on its head:
- 1Make PR available to every person living with COPD in the U.S., regardless of where they live, their disease severity, or their financial means; and
- 2Provide a permanent, lifelong resource for these people that want to take back what COPD has taken from them.
We spent three years designing, testing, redesigning, enhancing and finally launching a digitally accessible program that takes everything we know works in a traditional PR setting, while preserving all of the customizability, functionality and social-supported elements of traditional programs. We conducted a demonstration pilot in 2016 and we achieved comparable or better outcomes in patient participation, symptom improvements and quality of life measures as facilities-based programs.
COPD is a treatable condition, but only if people living with the disease have access to the best treatments. ModoSpira finally makes these treatments available to everyone living with COPD.
